Privacy Policy
Effective date: 7 June 2026 · Last updated: 7 June 2026
CommonFaith Bible ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what
information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: Email address, display name, and profile photo when you register.
- Content you create: Bible highlights, notes, bookmarks, prayer requests, church feed posts,
sermon notes, quiet time reflections, and quiz answers.
- Church & community data: Church membership, roles (admin/pastor/member), join requests,
pulpit notes, and feed images you upload.
- AI interaction data: Messages sent to Ari (our AI Bible study assistant) and content sent for
quiz or quiet time generation. These are processed by Google Gemini and are not stored permanently by us beyond
your chat history.
- Notification preferences: Your daily reading reminder times, verse-of-the-day preferences,
and device push notification tokens (FCM).
- Device & usage data: Basic crash and performance data collected via Firebase (no advertising
identifiers used).
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise your Bible study experience.
- To enable church community features (feeds, pulpit, prayer requests, invites).
- To generate AI-powered content (quiet times, quizzes, chapter intros, avatar descriptions) via Google Gemini.
- To send push notifications for reminders, friend requests, accountability check-ins, and church updates.
- To maintain app security and prevent abuse.
3. Content Moderation
All user-generated text and images posted to community areas (church feeds, prayer requests, announcements) are
automatically reviewed by our AI moderation system (powered by Google Gemini) before publication. This includes:
- Screening for nudity, graphic violence, hate speech, and offensive gestures in images.
- Screening for harmful, abusive, or inappropriate language in text content.
- Reviewing reported images upon user flag — a report triggers re-analysis and automatic removal if a violation
is confirmed.
- Moderation decisions are logged with a timestamp. Content rejected by moderation is not stored.
Church admins also have the ability to delete posts and report images directly within the app.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and App
Check (security).
- Google Gemini — AI content generation and image moderation. Content sent to Gemini is subject
to Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
- Your account data is retained until you delete your account.
- Church feed image posts (non-pinned) are automatically deleted after 30 days, including the associated image
file in storage.
- Deleted account data is removed from all systems within 30 days of deletion, including Firestore documents,
Storage files, and FCM tokens.
6. Your Rights
You can at any time:
- Edit your display name and profile photo in the app.
- Delete individual posts, highlights, notes, and bookmarks.
- Request full account and data deletion via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
- Contact us at support@commonfaith.app to request a data export or

8. Security
We use Firebase App Check to verify that requests originate from genuine installs of our app. All data is
transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. User authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication with encrypted credential
storage.
